Over the last thirteen or so years, Colchester based Jøtnarr has ploughed a furiously single-minded path, creating a potent blackened hardcore.
Feet First on the Corpse Path follows on from 2024’s Rotten Fucking Planet, marking a line-up change that sees Sam Fairclough (Battle of Wolf 369 / Savage Realm / Grim Harvest) and Chris Saunders (Earthmass / Chestburster) joining original guitarists Chris Moore and Simon Rollo on vocals and drums.
Feet First… is a natural successor to all that Jotnarr has done. Musically, the band builds on its trademark ferociously catchy riffing and bludgeoning drumming which take an occasional step back only to return with a relentless intensity. Lyrically, Feet First… also serves as a source of solace. If you are seething at everything going on, Sam’s vocals add an angrier edge to a livid take on the ridiculous decisions humanity seems to insist on making.
Jøtnarr has always been an addictive proposition and Feet First on the Corpse Path reinforces their place in the UK DIYsphere.
