Kicking - Goodbye Party CS
Loads of bands are doing this “grungegaze” thing at the moment which I’m cool with as it harks back to the 90’s from whence my tastes will forever be mired.
Kicking may well be the best ones at it right now though. Actual proper heartfelt singing that soars over beautifully crunchy guitars that bring the heaviness when they’re done with the requisite shimmering.
There are shades of Hum, Smashing Pumpkins, My Bloody Valentine, Cave In and whatnot so come on labels, they should be famous! Hopefully Mississippi is not too far off the radar.
This very snazzy looking Euro pressing comes courtesy of Berlin’s Summer Darling Tapes who have a bunch of other cool stuff out. This has two extra tracks on top of the original “Goodbye Party” release. All killer no filler.
