With clear elements of the dark/neo folk that flowed more liberally through the previous albums, “Showing Teeth” also brings a new level of visceral intensity, there is a heaviness and gritty angst. In Bryant’s other projects (Pando, Unfold etc), there is an empathy towards drone, experimental and doomy/sludgy tones – all of which are more more prevalent on “showing teeth” – with an almost Neurosis-style-vibe flowing through the album.
