Schalken - Veneration Of Relics CS
Debut release from Matt Cooper of Vom. Veneration Of Relics is made up entirely of layered solo guitar. It's very dark and brooding stuff, with a particularly uncomfortable, almost cloyingly intense atmosphere throughout. In my head this has at root a real gothic sound to it. That could be informed by Matt's day job, it could be the reverb-ed guitar sound, or it could just be the very base, rudimentary dark sound he's captured here. It comes across like some kind of waking fever dream had by Terry Riley. Brilliant stuff and hopefully the first of many more to come.
